My Story
Passion for Animals
My passion for animals and interest in serving others inspired my decision to become a professional dog trainer and pet care taker. I founded Sweeties Perfect Pack in 2013, and have been providing the Chicagoland and Northern Illinois areas with loyal and loving pet services ever since. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry family member, I’m sure we’ll get along swimmingly.

It all started with Sweetie Pie, She is a pitbull, dogo Mix. I found her in 2011 roaming the streets of Chicago, torn up and emaciated. She was in need of a loving forever home, but more importantly, she was in need of a family. She was scared of most men with severe fear based reactivity but by training her using balanced training, Sweetie transformed into an amazing, patient, and well balanced dog. She now holds a Canine Good Citizen certification (CGC) and visits commmunities as a therapy dog.

As for me, my name is Dawn Srodon and my love for training started when I began a career in the doggie daycare industry. I loved being around dogs but I soon learned I loved teaching them how to have the right manners and boundries around both dogs and humans more. So I left the doggie daycare industry and became a dog trainer apprentice. I first started off with treat based training or positive reinforcement training. I loved being able to help dogs and clients alike but was starting to realize positive reinforcement didn't work for all of our dogs. I began to research different training techniques, mentoring with different trainers using different training ideologies from Pack Mentality, Ecollar Off Leash training and more. Soon after I began an apprenticeship teaching the methodology of balanced training, and knew I found the best way to train, impact and heal the bond between dogs and their owners. I received my first dog training certificate in 2013. I am constantly proceeding to continue my education from attending new training semiars, became a graduate from Animal Behavior College, attend webinars and take more certification courses.
